High-quality reeds have an effective capillary action, meaning they diffuse fragrance quickly and evenly. But to give a new diffuser a boost, it is recommended to flip your reeds after the first 10 minutes. This allows the saturated ends to start releasing the scent into the air faster than if you waited for the scent base to travel the entire length of the reed.
