Place your candle vessel on a heat-proof surface and fill with boiling water. The water will melt the residual wax and as the water cools the wax will form a solid disc on the surface of the water. The disc of wax can then be removed and thrown in the bin. Use a butter knife or spoon to dislodge the wick base and dispose. Your candle vessel can then be wiped with paper towel to remove any residue and then placed in your dishwasher from which it will emerge sparkling clean and ready to use.
