Candle Safety GuideUpdated a month ago

Our candles are designed to be enjoyed safely in your home when used as directed. Please follow the guidelines below to ensure a safe and long-lasting burn.

General Safety

  • Never leave a burning candle unattended
  • Keep candles out of reach of children and pets
  • Always burn candles on a stable, heat-resistant surface
  • Keep away from flammable items such as curtains, bedding or paper
  • Avoid placing candles near open windows, fans or air vents

Before Lighting

  • Trim the wick to approximately 5mm before each use
  • Ensure the candle is placed upright on a flat, level surface
  • Remove any packaging or foreign objects from the candle

Burn Guidelines

  • Allow the wax to melt to the edges of the jar on the first burn (approximately 2 hours) to prevent tunnelling
  • Do not burn for less than 1 hour or more than 3 hours at a time
  • Do not burn the candle all the way down
  • Discontinue use when approximately 12mm of wax remains at the base

While Burning

  • Do not move the candle while it is lit or while the wax is still hot
  • The glass may become hot during use. Allow it to cool completely before handling
  • Ensure the wick remains centred during burning
  • If the flame becomes too large, flickers excessively or produces smoke, extinguish the candle, allow it to cool, trim the wick and relight

Extinguishing Your Candle

  • Use a candle snuffer where possible to avoid splashing wax
  • Ensure the flame is fully extinguished before leaving the room
  • Allow the candle to cool completely before relighting

Additional Tips

  • Keep the wax pool free from debris such as wick trimmings or matches
  • Store candles in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight
  • Always follow the care instructions provided with your candle
